Hope for tomorrow

In the cool of the day she sat
quietly gathering her thoughts.
​Wistfully she remembers when this
​was her favorite time of day.
It was when God Himself would come
and walk with her and her beloved.

Shame clouds her countenance as she
relives how her pride and lust for
more than God's will brought her
world crumbling down at her feet.

Yet a smile slowly sweeps across
her face as she recalls something
​else received on that fateful day.
A promise that one of her kind
​would bear the Savior of the world.
​Through Him that old serpent Satan
would be forever conquered.

Just as Eve was given hope for tomorrow,
I too have been given the same promise.
​Christ now lives in me and it is 
in Him that all my hope rests
and all my tomorrows are settled.
