In a world that often feels overwhelmed by shadow, we are called to be a people of light. Matthew 5:16 reminds us, "Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." But how do we cultivate a life that consistently radiates God’s goodness? How do we train our hearts to see His hand in the ordinary moments of our days?
Writing Our Testimony Every believer has a story, a living testament to a loving God. Yet, so often, the busyness of life causes us to forget the miracles of yesterday. The SONshine Class is built around the profound spiritual discipline of holy remembrance. It is a dedicated space to reflect on exactly what God has done in our lives, teaching us to articulate our personal walk with Him.
As we look back, we learn to look forward with hope, echoing the words of David in Psalm 77:11:
"I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago."
The Power of the Smallest Things We often wait for burning bushes or parting seas to recognize God, but the Holy Spirit frequently whispers in the quietest, smallest moments. This class teaches us that the smallest things matter. A timely text from a friend, a moment of peace during a hectic morning, or the simple beauty of a sunrise—these are all signatures of a Creator who cares about the microscopic details of our lives. When we train our eyes to see God in the small things, our perspective shifts. We begin to understand Zechariah 4:10: "Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin."
Heart of Thankfulness and Focus The ultimate goal of the SONshine Class is to anchor our minds securely on Jesus. When we are always focused on the Lord, anxiety loses its grip, and joy takes its place. We learn to cultivate a lifestyle of constant thanksgiving, fulfilling the calling found in 1 Thessalonians 5:18: "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."
By intentionally documenting His blessings, we keep our eyes fixed on the provider of our faith.
The Month-Long Journey It takes two weeks of daily repetition to form a new habit. Because we want this lifestyle of praise to truly stick, the SONshine Class is structured as a month-long experience. By dedicating four weeks to this practice, we are doubling up our chances of turning reflection into a lifelong spiritual reflex. We aren't just taking a class; we are building a holy habit,SONshine to Your Church This class will come directly to your church family to lead this hands-on, deeply personal experience. This can be done for youth class or adults. We will meet with a leader of the church or pastor and go over times, dates and if we need to tailor any specific details first. We would love to share the Hope of God with your Church. God is so good, let spread that love with like-minded people, encourage and disciple is just a small step away.
