What if a shoebox had the ability to take the gospel into a place where the doors had been previously shut? What if a shoebox had the ability to soften hearts toward the gospel? Did you know that it can? Operation Christmas Child has been privileged to hand out 157 million shoeboxes in over 150 countries around the world, many which are closed to the gospel. But they would not be able to do it without the help of people. I have been participating in this ministry for five years and it brings me great joy to know that I have played a small part in spreading God's love to children around the world. It is so easy to do and loads of fun! All that is needed is a shoebox that can be filled with gifts appropriate for the age you choose whether it be toddler, child or teen. You then pay the small shipping cost which helps send the box to another country and if you pay online you can receive a tracking code and know where your box was delivered! This is a great ministry opportunity for families as it allows children to learn what it means to give and have a part in something with eternal value. Here are some testimonies of what God has already done with these shoeboxes: "There are places like the deepest interior of Asia, near the border between Mongolia and the Siberian region of Russia, where the nomadic Buryat people have been virtually unreached by the Gospel. A tiny Mongolian church from a nearby area reached out to one of these Buryat communities and invited the children there to an Operation Christmas Child outreach event. As a result, the church had 14 children enroll in The Greatest Journey [a Bible study program that shares the gospel], and they are now faithfully attending Sunday school. Several of the parents are coming to church, too. We praise God for using these shoebox gifts to open doors for Mongolian Christians to plant churches among the Buryat. In the Philippines, God called an evangelist named Toti to bring the Gospel to the unreached Iraya tribe on the island of Mindoro. He visited a village that had no evangelical church and organized a community celebration where he handed out shoebox gifts to the local children. These gifts were so well received that village leaders asked his church to teach The Greatest Journey. In the next three months, 40 children in the village prayed to receive Christ as their Lord and Savior. Several adults also turned to Jesus in repentance and faith, including the village chief. 'My heart became soft,' the chief said. 'Jesus is the one who changes you. Jesus can heal my soul'. Samaritan's Purse is now helping to build the first church in the village". I cannot even begin to describe the joy in my heart when I read these testimonies! I get to be a part of this and by simply packing a shoebox! Would you consider joining me in this special ministry? To learn more or if you have more questions just visit their website: www.samaritanspurse.org I have uploaded a video that shows children receiving their gifts and also tells a little about the ministry! Please consider taking part in something that will have eternal results!! Comments are closed.

Sarah GraceI am just an ordinary girl who is loved by an extraordinary God and I seek to love others the same way. I love to bake, read, do puzzles, watch Hallmark movies, and go shopping with my mom! This blog was created as a place where I could share some thoughts that the Lord has shown me and to be an encouragement to others who desire to know Him in a deeper way. My prayer is to learn to sit still and trust God with my future. Archives
